The Australian Street Photography Awards celebrate the best contemporary street photography being made by Australian photographers.
Twenty-five finalists will be selected by an independent jury. Every finalist's work will be professionally printed and exhibited in Sydney, in November 2026.
One photographer will receive the $5,000 Australian Street Photography Award.

WHAT IS AUSSIE STREET?
Aussie Street is an independent platform dedicated to Australian street photography.
Founded in Sydney, Aussie Street brings together photographers, exhibitions, education and events while championing the diverse ways Australian photographers observe and document everyday life.
In 2026, Aussie Street returns with a renewed focus: supporting photographers, creating opportunities and building a lasting platform for Australian street photography.
Who can enter?
The 2026 Australian Street Photography Awards are open to Australian citizens and permanent residents, and photographers currently residing in Australia.
Entrants must be 18 years or older.
Submitted photographs may have been made anywhere in the world.
What is street photography?
We understand street photography broadly.
Entries should arise primarily from observation rather than direction, and engage with public or publicly accessible life.
We welcome different traditions and approaches to the genre - documentary, poetic, humorous, surreal, confrontational, quiet and experimental.
Street photographs do not need to contain people.
Staged photographs and those with/ assisted by AI-generated imagery are not eligible.
Judging
FAIR. INDEPENDENT. ANONYMOUS.
Entries are presented to the jury without photographers' names, biographies, social media accounts or professional histories.
Judges assess the photographs.
Aussie Street's organisers do not participate in the selection of finalists or the winner.
The Entry Fees
Supporting Australian Street Photography
The Australian Street Photography Awards is a not-for-profit initiative presented by Aussie Street. Entry fees exist to make the Awards possible, not to generate private profit.
All funds raised through entries are reinvested into the Awards and the Australian street photography community - including the $5,000 prize, finalist printing, exhibition costs, events, and future Aussie Street programs and opportunities.
By entering, photographers aren't simply contributing to a prize pool. They're helping build a sustainable, independent platform for Australian street photography.
